1. Overview
The Glass Cup ("Competition") is a glass-art competition presented by Focus V ("Sponsor"). The Competition recognizes glass artistry across two device categories — ΛERIS and CΛRTΛ — through two independent award tracks:
- Official Judges Award — winners selected by an expert judging panel based on a scored rubric.
- People's Choice Award — winners selected by public vote.
A single entry may win in one track, both tracks, or neither. The two tracks are judged and awarded independently.

3. Eligibility
- Entrants (glass artists) and voters must be at least 21 years of age at the time of participation.
- The Competition is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia, except where prohibited or restricted by law.
- Employees, officers, and directors of the Sponsor and its affiliates, and their immediate family members and households, are eligible to enter as artists, but are NOT eligible to serve as official judges for their own entries.
- Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
4. Competition Period
- People's Choice voting opens: Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at 9:00 AM Eastern Time (ET).
- People's Choice voting closes: Sunday, July 12, 2026 at 10:00:00 PM Eastern Time (ET).
- Winners announced: on or about the week of July 13, 2026.
The Sponsor's server clock is the official timekeeper for all deadlines. Votes recorded after the closing time will not be counted.
5. The Two Award Tracks
5.1 Official Judges Award
Each entry is scored by an expert judging panel on a 100-point rubric:
| Criterion | Points |
|---|---|
| Craftsmanship | 35 |
| Functionality & Compatibility | 25 |
| Creativity | 25 |
| Innovation | 15 |
| Total | 100 |
Each entry's final score is the average of the individual judges' scores. The highest-scoring entry in each category wins that category's Official Judges Award. Judging decisions are final.
Prizes: $5,000 (ΛERIS) and $5,000 (CΛRTΛ).
5.2 People's Choice Award
Members of the public may vote for their favorite entries after verifying a valid email address. Each verified voter receives three (3) votes per category (ΛERIS and CΛRTΛ), for a maximum of six (6) votes total. A voter may cast no more than one (1) vote per entry, and may re-assign votes within their allotted budget at any time before voting closes. The entry receiving the most votes in each category wins that category's People's Choice Award.
Prizes: $2,500 (ΛERIS) and $2,500 (CΛRTΛ).
6. How to Vote (People's Choice)
- Visit the Competition website and select an entry.
- Verify a valid email address via a one-time verification code.
- Cast up to three (3) votes per category. No purchase or payment is necessary.
Voting is free. One verified voter is permitted per person. Attempts to circumvent the one-verified-voter rule — including but not limited to using multiple or disposable email addresses, automated scripts or bots, or email-address variations intended to evade de-duplication — are prohibited and may result in disqualification of the associated votes.
7. Fair-Play and Vote Integrity
The Sponsor employs measures to protect the integrity of the vote, including email verification, disposable-domain filtering, rate limiting, and fraud monitoring. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to investigate and to void any votes it reasonably believes to be fraudulent, automated, duplicative, or otherwise in violation of these Rules, and to disqualify any entrant or voter found to be tampering with the voting process or the operation of the Competition.
8. Winner Selection, Notification, and Ties
- Ties: In the event of a tie in either track or category, the tied entrants will share that award equally and split the prize evenly among them.
- Notification: Potential winners will be notified via the contact information on file within 7 days of the announcement date. If a potential winner cannot be contacted within 7 days, or fails to complete any required documentation, the Sponsor may disqualify that winner and select an alternate.
9. Prizes, Taxes, and Documentation
- Total prize pool: $15,000, awarded as described in Section 5.
- All prizes are awarded "as is" with no warranty or guarantee, express or implied.
- Winners are solely responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes on their prize. As required by law, any winner receiving $600 or more (U.S. entrants) will be required to complete and return an IRS Form W-9 before payment, and will be issued an IRS Form 1099-MISC. Failure to provide a completed W-9 and any other requested documentation within 10 days may result in forfeiture of the prize.
- Prizes are non-transferable. No substitution or cash equivalent except at the Sponsor's sole discretion.
10. Intellectual Property and Publicity
- Entrants retain ownership of their glass artwork. By entering, entrants grant the Sponsor a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use images, likenesses, names, and social-media handles of their entries in connection with the Competition and its promotion, in any media, without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.
- By accepting a prize, a winner consents to the Sponsor's use of their name, city/state, and entry for promotional purposes without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.
11. Privacy
Email addresses and other information collected for voting and entry are handled in accordance with the Sponsor's Privacy Policy. By verifying an email to vote, voters may receive Competition-related and marketing communications from the Sponsor, from which they may opt out at any time.
12. General Conditions
- The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, suspend, or terminate the Competition (or any portion of it) if fraud, technical failures, or any other factor beyond the Sponsor's reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Competition.
- The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, misdirected, or undeliverable entries, votes, or communications; or for technical or network malfunctions.
- By participating, entrants and voters agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding in all matters.
- These Rules are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
